Farmers React To EPA Contention That Ethanol Causes Glocal Warming

Updated:

The regional director of the Iowa Farm Bureau says there needs to be more "science" behind the EPA's contention that ethanol is contributing to global warming.

Jerry Anderson says ethanol has been blamed for everything from global warming to increasing the price of food.

But he says there's no science behind those statements.

In Iowa alone, ethanol has pumped more than 8 billion dollars into the economy and created 50-thousand jobs and Anderson says it is going to be a part of the future.

The ethanol industry appears to have the backing of the President.

Obama directed more loan guarantees and economic stimulus money for biofuels research.

And told the Ag Department to find ways to preserve biofuel industry jobs.
