Fire broke out in Orion, Illinois that has left a family without a home.

Firefighters were called out shortly after 8:00 Wednesday morning to the 300 block of 10th Avenue in Orion. The building houses a tavern on the main level with an apartment above.

A mother and two children were in the apartment, but got out before the fire crews arrived. Firefighters say flames could be seen when they got there and they were able to contain the fire a short time later. They still don't know how it started.

The American Red Cross says it is assisting the family of four with basic emergency needs until the family can find another place to stay.
