We have an update on a black bear seen roaming around Clinton County. There have now been at least two more sightings.
On Monday, a brother and sister noticed a bear outside their home in Charlotte and took a picture as it roamed away. On Tuesday, we received a new photo of a black bear from nearby Goose Lake.
Christine Vivian and her husband Kim, noticed the bird feeders had been raided in their back yard. Then, they discovered a bear on their patio. Needless to say, the couple was surprised. Click here for details from the Vivian's blog.
Another viewer also reported seeing a bear in the Goose Lake area, but didn't send a photo.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says as long as the animal isn't hurting anyone, there's no need to take action. Officials suspect the bear may have wandered here from Minnesota or Wisconsin, or it was held in captivity and somehow escaped.
