There have been more sightings of a black bear in the area, but we're not sure if it's the same one. That's because earlier reports came from Clinton County, Iowa and now the creature has been spotted across the Mississippi River.

The Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Department says it received reports of a large black bear being spotted early Thursday morning in Stockton, Illinois. Another report came in around 9:30 at Canyon Park and U.S. Route 20. On Wednesday, a man saw a bear in Savanna, Illinois yesterday. Dan Knapp says it looked like it was right at home.  "Well, it didn't have a scared appearance of me pulling over on the side of the road with my jaw hanging down there, but very casual," Knapp said.  "He kind of stood up and stretched a little bit, then kind of peered. It was approximately 50 to 60 yards away from me. It wasn't scared a bit though."

Earlier this week, a black bear was photographed in Charlotte and in Goose Lake, Iowa. Did it cross the river by bridge? Or did it take a swim? No one knows for sure.
