Associated Press - July 28, 2009 1:44 PM ET

DIXON, Neb. (AP) - Authorities in northeast Nebraska say an 84-year-old driver has died in a collision.

The Dixon County Sheriff's Office says Clifford Templeman of Dixon was headed west in his van on a county road just before 2 p.m. Monday when he ran a stop sign and collided with a southbound semitrailer.

Templeman was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa, where he was pronounced dead.

Sheriff Dean Chase said Tuesday that the driver of the semi, 59-year-old Leo Richtermeier of rural Ponca, suffered only a minor cut.
