A Davenport toddler is in the hospital after she was hit by a car while trying to get ice cream. The accident happened Tuesday night in the 700 block of West 14th Street in Davenport.

Police say two year old Darriae Hopson was crossing the street to meet an ice cream truck when she was struck by an SUV. At last word, she was in serious but stable condition.

Police say the SUV was driven by 18 year old Charleston Walker of Davenport. Police say Walker was driving with a suspended license and no insurance.
