Stolen Car Involved In Davenport Crash

Updated:

Two juveniles are in custody after leading police on a chase in two states. It began around 4:15 Monday morning in the 1700 block of Bridge Avenue in Davenport. A man came home and reported being attacked by several people including one with a handgun. They demanded the keys to his 2005 Cadillac and took off.

A short time later, police in Rock Island spotted the vehicle and tried to pull it over. That's when the driver headed over the Centennial Bridge and back into Davenport. Davenport Police chased the car, and followed it to near Kimberly Road and Welcome Way. That's where police say the car ran a red light and hit a car driven by a 21 year old woman from Eldridge, who was on her way to work.

Police say two males jumped out of the stolen car but were quickly caught. The 15 and 16 year olds were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries, along with the woman driving the other car.

Police are trying to determine if the teens are involved in a series of other recent burglaries and thefts.
