If you want a car at a rock bottom price, head out to Arrowhead Ranch in Coal Valley this weekend. The 37th annual Round-Up will be held on Sunday, September 20th, which includes a big car auction. There are over 100 domestic and foreign cars, like a 1987 Mercedes Benz, a 1977 Ford Ranchero and a 1996 Mitsubishi Spyder, all donated to benefit the program for troubled youth. There are also several boats and a camper trailer.
Arrowhead CEO, Angela Moody says they have about the same number of vehicles as in years past, but this year they had more that didn't actually run. She thinks that's because of the recent Cash for Clunkers program, which offered government rebates for gas-guzzling cars. One of the stipulations to qualify for the program was that the vehicle had to be licensed and run. Arrowhead has a mechanic who gets the donated cars running and teens in the program clean them up.
Round-Up is from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 12200 104th Street Coal Valley. The furniture auction begins at 10:00 a.m., and the vehicle auction begins at noon. Arrowhead will also auction a 2004 Harley Davidson 1200 custom motorcycle on eBay starting on September 21.
All the vehicles to be auctioned are listed on Arrowhead's website.
