Counselors were on hand Tuesday at Butterworth Elementary School in Moline after a child collapsed and died.

School officials say the 4th grade boy was on the playground Monday morning when he collapsed. He died on the way to the hospital.

The school sent out a letter notifying parents of what happened and that counselors would be on hand to help children and families cope with the sudden loss. There is no information on the boy's cause of death.

Butterworth Elementary is located on 48th Street, South of John Deere Road in Moline.
