Arrest made in weekend shooting

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - A Hiawatha man has been arrested in connection with a weekend shooting that left another man with life-threatening injuries.

Cedar Rapids police say Monday on Timothy Lamont Reynolds has been arrested in connection the shooting of 38-year-old Christopher Pearson. Authorities say officers responding to reports of shots fired found the victim laying on the ground Sunday. He was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say investigators worked though the evening, interviewing witnesses, adding the victim was interviewed Monday. They say Reynolds was identified by witnesses as the shooter.

According to police, Pearson and Reynolds exchanged words before the shooting, the nature of which was not revealed.

The 17-year-old Reynolds was charged as an adult with attempted murder.
