Milan Woman's Artwork Honors Fallen Soldiers

Updated:

A Milan woman, touched by the loss of fallen soldiers, is offering a gift that she hopes will comfort their families.

Charlotte York is offering detailed pencil sketches of those killed in the line of duty and Tuesday she delivered her portrait of Corporal Jason Pautsch to his father, David.

The 20 year old soldier from Davenport was killed in a roadside bombing while serving in Iraq last April. Using a photograph, York was inspired to share her talent with those in mourning.

"Just my way of thanking the families for their loss and sacrifice and to honor the fallen soldiers," York said.

"We're just honored that people care so much and that they put out such effort to remember Jason," said David Pautsch.

Charlotte York is making the offer to anyone who has experienced a similar loss. You can contact her for a free portrait by clicking here.
