BELLEVILLE, Ill. (AP) - St. Clair County prosecutors say an alert television viewer is responsible for the arrest of a man accused of fatally stabbing a longtime friend and leaving him to die in a car in East St. Louis four month ago.

Prosecutors say the viewer spotted David Lockridge on the street in St. Louis and called CrimeStoppers, leading to the 39-year-old's arrest Wednesday.

Lockridge had been charged in a warrant with first-degree murder and authorities circulated his picture on the media Tuesday.

Lockridge is accused of killing his longtime friend, Jerome Dickerson.

Police found Dickerson sitting in car Aug. 24. He had been stabbed, and told police who stabbed him before he died.
