Rock Island residents will have the opportunity to win a gift certificate for $100 in groceries at Rock Island Country Market by participating in the Good Cents Program for one year.
The Good Cents program allows residents to round up their utility bills to the next dollar, with the difference going into a fund to assist the City's Roof Loan program.
Since utility bills are sent quarterly, the maximum amount possible to round up each quarter is 99 cents making an annual donation of $3.96 or less. The drawing for the gift certificate will be held April 30th.
Authorization forms for the Good Cents program and applications for the Roof Loan program are available on the Rock Island City website. You can also contact the Planning and Redevelopment Division at City Hall at (309)732-2900.
