Iowa City police say a man from Davenport was involved in a stabbing early Tuesday morning. Police were called to a home on Dodge Street around 4:15 a.m. As officers responded to the call, they intercepted a nearby vehicle driving erratically and traveling the wrong way down a one-way street. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 20-year-old James Robert Cosmo Flansburg-Sivell of Davenport.
During the investigation, the victim and Flansburg-Sivell told police that they were staying at the apartment of a mutual friend. Police say after an evening of playing video games and consuming alcohol, Flansburg-Sivell and the victim got into an argument over who was going to sleep on the couch and get a pillow. Police say the argument turned physical and the two men began punching each other.
Flansburg-Sivell told police that in a "fit of rage" he stabbed the victim in the leg with a pocket knife. The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries to his leg.
