"It's another beautiful day in Bettendorf," said Bettendorf Mayor Michael Freemire.

It's also another beautiful day in One of the Best Town's in America, according to CNNMoney.com, Bettendorf is the 95th best town to live in this year.

"I think it says a great deal about not only the community itself, but the people in the community who invest in their community and how it's growing," said Freemire.

CNNMoney.com considers a town to be less than 50,000 people.

The city says Bettendorf has just over 33,000 residents.

They rank towns on a host of criteria from schools and public safety to job opportunities and fiscal strength.

"It's really not subjective," said Steven Van Dyke, Economic Development for the City of Bettendorf. "It's more of an objective investigation."

And according to the city, their strong economy comes from keeping their debt low and investing in jobs through both city developments and local businesses.

"Over the years we've worked very hard to refinance old debt and not extend the term,"said Freemire.

"We've had industrial parks being developed, we're looking at new developments along 1-80," said Van Dyke.

The city says another factor is how family-friendly they are.

"Most of them seemed to be center around our family atmosphere, it's the one thing Bettendorf prides itself in, family is a big deal here," said Van Dyke.

And the city says while Bettendorf was singled out on the list, the title really belongs to the entire Q.C.

"It's really an honor that should be shared with the entire Quad Cities region because we are all working together and trying really hard to make this a great place to live," said Van Dyke.
