Davenport City Administrator Craig Malin is one of five finalists in the running for the City Manager position in Tacoma, Washington.

Malin told KWQC today that he was "invited to interview in Washington for the position, but is still deciding if he will fly out there to interview."

The Tacoma Weekly is reporting, "All five will be in Tacoma next week for interviews with council members as well as meetings with the press and general public."

The Tacoma City Council voted on the finalists at its meeting Tuesday night, according to the Tacoma Weekly.

In recent weeks Davenport Mayor Gluba said "Craig is  heavily recruited by other communities around the country. He's on the National City Managers' Board of Directors. He's a teacher and instructor so he's a very sought-after guy. So we're very fortunate to have Craig Malin in Davenport."

Tacoma is Washington state's third-largest city, with approximately 199,826 residents.
