Paula Sands

Paula Sands is a native Quad Citian, born and raised in Moline, Illinois. A graduate of Moline High School and the Academy of Radio and Television, Paula landed her first job in radio writing and voicing commercials at WQUA-AM.

In the summer of 1982, Paula interviewed and was hired by WOC-TV6 for the co-host position on PM Magazine. Paula, at age 23 was the country's youngest co-host of the syndicated PM Show.

Starting in the WOC News Department as a reporter in 1984, Paula soon moved to anchoring the 10PM News and hosting the "new version" of PM magazine, Five PM Live.

Paula's warmth and sincerity proved to be a winning combination with KWQC-TV6 viewers and in August of 1993, KWQC-TV6 introduced Paula Sands Live. Paula Sands Live is a locally produced program that airs Monday through Friday from 4:30pm - 5:00pm.

In addition to hosting Paula Sands Live , Paula also co-anchors KWQC-TV6 News at 5:00pm and 6PM.

Paula married David Sands on September 5, 1984, at Little Church of the West, Las Vegas, Nevada. Paula is stepmom to Shauna, who is married and living in the Chicago area and Amanda who is married and lives in the Quad Cities.

Travel is popular in the Sands family. Paula and David enjoy annual trips to Arizona and Calfornia, and love to spend as much time as possible with their four granddaughters. 

This year Paula is celebrating her 25th year at KWQC-TV6 and says it's still her dream job.
