Federal investigators have been notified of another crash-landing in the Quad City area and are  trying to determine whether it was serious enough to start a formal investigation.

On Monday, April 1, 2013, just after 8 p.m., Davenport police responded to a small, four-passenger plane going down in a cornfield in the northwest part of the city. 

The plane was experiencing mechanical problems, and the pilot was forced to land in a field approximately a half mile east of 60th and Fairmount Street.

The pilot was approaching the Davenport Municipal Airport when he had to make an emergency landing. He was the only person on board and police say no one was injured.

According to a spokesman with the National Transportation Safety Board, they are waiting for the Federal Aviation Administration's assessment of the damage to the plane. If there is not significant damage, they won't open an investigation.

On March 23rd, another small plane crash-landed in a field in Cordova, Illinois. The pilot was not hurt.
