Police in Rock Island are trying to figure out how an SUV smashed into the side of a house. Emergency crews were called to the scene of an accident in the 400 block of 7th Ave. around 3 p.m.Tuesday, May 7th, 2013.

Police on the scene say it looks like the driver lost control on 7th Ave., hit a light pole, clipped a wooden fence and slammed head-on into the house. No one was home at the time.

Police say the driver was not injured but the foundation to the home appears to be damaged. They are still investigating the cause of the crash.
