Counselors will be at Orion High School tomorrow to help students deal with the death of one of their classmates. Seventeen-year-old Stephanie Jones was killed in the car crash earlier this week in Henry County A senior at Orion High School, she was driving a Dodge Durango southbound on East 400th Street. It left the roadway, went into the ditch, hit a utility pole and rolled several times. An air ambulance took her to a Peoria hospital where she later died. The Henry County Sheriff's office is still investigating. Stephanie's classmates are missing their friend. Emily Carlson, an Orion High School Senior says, "It was probably one of the most tragic things I've heard. I just couldn't believe it. And I didn't want to believe it. And I still don't believe it. Everyone knew her. You could just walk down the hall and say "hey" and she would say "hey" and smile." Counselors will be at Orion High School tomorrow from 8 in the morning until 3:30 in the afternoon. The school is closed today for Veterans Day, but the school has posted phone numbers of counselors on call. Funeral arrangements for Stephanie Jones are pending.
