Join Jessica Tighe bright and early as she gives you the news of the day before you start your day. Starting at 5:00am you can tune into Quad Cities Today and find out what happened while you were sleeping, what's going on right now and what's to come for the day.
Jessica joined the TV-6 team as the Noon Anchor/Morning Reporter in November 2006. In fact, her first day on the job earned her an award from the Iowa Broadcasters Association for Spot News Coverage.
A Wisconsin native, Jessica grew up about 20 minutes from Milwaukee in Elm Grove. She graduated from Indiana University with degrees in Journalism, Spanish, and Sociology. While still in college, she interned in the investigative unit at WISN-TV in Milwaukee.
Two days after graduation, she started her broadcast career with a quick stint as a "one-woman band" reporter at an ABC station in West Virginia. The station then promoted her to weekend anchor.
Looking to learn more, Jessica later accepted a position at WXOW, the ABC affiliate in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She started as a general assignment reporter before management promoted her to the weekend anchor slot.
During her time in La Crosse, the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association also recognized Jessica's work for excellence in reporting. She spent two years in La Crosse before deciding it was time for a new challenge.
She found what she was looking for at KWQC-TV6 and hasn't looked back. From the TV-6 team to the QCA community as a whole, Jessica says, "This is a wonderful opportunity and I'm so thankful to be here. From my neighbors next door to the people at the grocery store, everyone has made me feel more than welcome."
In her spare time, Jessica enjoys being involved in the community. She has acted as the Master of Ceremonies for a handful of events, including "The Young Women of Achievement Night" at The Mark.
She also loves trying new restaurants, but she's so good at it that there aren't too many she hasn't tried yet! Last summer, she took up golf and she also loves to scrapbook, but if the Indiana Hoosiers are on the basketball court, you'll find Jessica in front of a TV cheering them on.
