The more than 100 veterans who lay at rest at Davenport’s “City” Cemetery, will be remembered on Veterans Day, Saturday Nov. 11th with an Honor Guard, 3 volley rifle presentation and the reading of names of all veterans in the Cemetery. Veterans in this cemetery served in wars including the War of 1812 through WWII and also in the Schleswig-Holstein War for Independence (against Denmark). Visitors to the cemetery can also visit the Sexton’s Cottage and walk through cemetery observing the many improvement recently made there. The Cemetery is also seeking for sponsors for the “Wreaths Across America” program that places a holiday wreath on the grave site of each U.S. veteran at the cemetery in December.
