A New Mexico native, MariaElena joined the KWQC team in 2017. She likes to consider herself a "jill-of-all-trades" after working several years on the local news broadcast "News 3 New Mexico". Stationed out of KENW-TV in Portales, New Mexico, she worked on camera and video operation, as well as designing on-air graphics before ultimately finding her passion in editing.

In May, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Production with a minor in Digital Filmmaking from Eastern New Mexico University.

In her free time, you can catch MariaElena with a coffee in her hand, napping or training to be a professional wrestler just across the river in Moline, IL.
