Fran Riley Feature: Walk Through Bethlehem

By  |

(KWQC) - It is a gift to the community from a church congregation in Rock Island County. An annual tradition. On Friday and Saturday, Buffalo Prairie Evangelical Presbyterian Church presents a Walk Through Bethlehem.

The walk features the Christmas Story and the journey of Mary and Joseph leading up to the birth of Jesus. Church members are dressed in costume as they take a step back in time.

Visitors can take a walk through the marketplace and experience the sights and sounds. You can visit a baker’s shop, step inside King Herod’s palace, stop by the inn, or get a look at the shining star leading the Wise Men to the stable. There, you’ll meet Mary, Joseph, and the newborn King.

The congregation spent weeks preparing for The Walk, doing much research and rehearsing. This is the fifth year for the event.

The Walk Through Bethlehem is December 8th and 9th from 6-8:30pm.
It is free and takes place at Buffalo Prairie Evangelical Presbyterian Church. An evening intended to enrich your Christmas season!
