GALVA, Ill. (KWQC) — Laural Almquist calls it “angel wing music.” Her mom says harp music makes the soul feel at rest. Laural is a senior at Galva High School, and began playing the harp when she was ten.
She has brilliant technique and touch. Her Irish harp is seven years old. She calls it Stoney. Twenty nine strings, and no pedals. She can raise or lower levels by hand.
Laural will be eighteen in a few days. Already, she has recorded two cd’s. She is an honor student and is thinking about pursuing her career at Augustana College. She would like to minor in music and major in pre-med.
A child prodigy. A gifted musician in harmony with her harp!
