AKRON, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Congressman Steve King announced on Twitter October 9 that Donald Trump Jr. will be hunting at his Annual Colonel Bud Day Pheasant Hunt.
King and Trump, Jr. will be joined by Congressman Louie Gohmert of Texas at the event as well as former Congressmen Tom Tancredo and Gil Gutknecht.
A fundraiser for King’s re-election campaign, the hunt has seen several GOP presidential candidates and other dignitaries take part in the annual event.
“During the weekend, our attention shifts to this pastime as well as our hunt’s namesake, Col. Bud Day, and his fellow veterans,” King stated.
Col. Day was a Sioux City native and was the nation’s most decorated war hero at the time of his death in 2013.
As a young Marine, Col. Day served in World War II, then later the Vietnam and Korean Wars. Captured during the Vietnam War, Col. Day was a prisoner for over 5.5 years and survived unimaginable treatment at the hands of his captors.
The event is held in Akron, Iowa at the Hole 'N the Wall Lodge October 27-29.
The three-day event includes all meals. The lodging is limited.
