Friend test driving a man's new camaro drives it into the Rock River

MOLINE, Ill (KWQC) -- UPDATE: Moline Detective Michael Griffin says a man was letting his friend test drive his new Chevy Camaro drove it into the Rock River on South Shore Drive Friday Night.

Police say the friend "wasn't able to handle the power" and lost control.

They believe the car is totaled but the two inside were not injured. Police say he bought the car two days ago.

"We don't have an update on the status of the friendship," says Moline Detective Michael Griffin.

Moline Police responded to a vehicle found partially submerged in the Rock River near South Shore Drive around 9:45 p.m.

The driver of the white sedan is not injured.

Moline Police say the driver lost control of the vehicle.
