Quad Cities, IA & Ill. (KWQC) The Quad Cities Area experienced a Saturday afternoon of record high temperatures. This is thanks to a strong ridge in the jet stream that will remain in place through the first part of the week.
A new record high of 94 was set in Moline, Illinois Saturday which beat the old record of 91 set in both 2007 and 1891. Burlington, Iowa topped off at 93 degrees which tied the previous record of 93 set back in the year 2007. Cedar Rapids, Iowa also set a new record high of 93 degrees. This replaced the old record of 90 which was felt back in the year 1930.
Our weather pattern isn't expected to drastically change until mid week, so expect near record highs all the way through Monday, September 25.
