Wapello beats Northeast to clinch state tournament berth

MUSCATINE, Iowa (KWQC) Wapello never trailed in the second half of a 55-46 win against Northeast Saturday in a class 2A substate final.
The win gives the Indians their first state tournament berth since 1994.
Trenton Massner led the way for Wapello with a game-high 25 points and eight rebounds. Luke Empen had 18 points to lead the Rebels.
Wapello will play in the state tournament on either March 5th or 6th at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
