The Scott County Health Department has received another small shipment of H1N1 vaccine. This is not the seasonal vaccine, but vaccine against the new 2009 H1N1 virus. Vaccine will be provided to individuals in the priority groups listed below by appointment only at clinics to be held this week. Appointments will be made on a first come first served basis.
Examples include
Individuals 6 months to 64 years old with kidney disease,
Individuals 6 months to 64 years old with liver disease,
Individuals 6 months to 64 years old with chronic cognitive impairment (like Alzheimer's Disease and other dementia, Down Syndrome or Autism),
Individuals 6 months to 64 years old with neurologic/neuromuscular diseases,
Individuals 6 months to 64 years old with blood disorders
Individuals 6 months to 64 years old with metabolic disorders (including diabetes mellitus)
Individuals 6 months to 64 years old with immunosuppression (including immunosuppression caused by medications like steroids and chemotherapy or by human immunodeficiency virus).

H1N1 Clinic Information:
Individuals 6 months to 64 years old with chronic pulmonary disease (including asthma), Individuals 6 months to 64 years old with cardiovascular disease (except isolated high blood pressure),
Household contacts and caregivers of infants less than six months old.
Healthy children six months to 4 years old,
Individuals ages six months to 64 years old with chronic medical conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications.
