WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - Authorities in Black Hawk County say 24 absentee ballots from the Waterloo mayoral run-off election did not get counted on Election Day.
According to unofficial results from Tuesday's election, Buck Clark edged out Steve Schmitt for mayor by 29 votes.
But in addition to the 24 uncounted ballots, election officials say there are 58 ballots that have not arrived.
All provisional and absentee ballots that arrive before Dec. 8 and are postmarked by Nov. 30 can still be counted in next week's official canvass.
There were also 13 absentee ballots from Cedar Falls that were mistakenly not delivered to the officials on Election Day.
