IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - A Chicago woman is charged with domestic abuse after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend at an Iowa home because she said he was cheating on her.
Police say they were called to a home in rural Johnson County on Friday by a man who said he'd been stabbed.
Police say that when officers arrived, they found 42-year-old Dorthy Thompson carrying a knife and walking around.
She dropped the knife when officers asked and allegedly admitted to stabbing her boyfriend because he was cheating. The extent of the man's injuries weren't immediately available.
Thompson is charged with domestic abuse assault with intent or displaying a weapon.
She's being held on $3,000 cash-only bond at the Johnson County Jail. It's unclear whether she has an attorney.
