There is a moderate to high risk of reaching flood stage along both the Mississippi and Rock Rivers this Spring. The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities released its final Spring Flood Outlook on Friday.
The report indicates there's a better than fifty-fifty- chance that flooding along both rivers could reach the moderate level. That would be a foot above flood stage.
Flood stage along the Rock River in Moline is twelve feet. The flood stage along the Mississippi River in the Quad Cities is fifteen feet.
The extent of flooding depends on how quickly snow melts in Wisconsin and Minnesota. The highest flood stage along the Rock River could be in mid-April. The Mississippi River at Rock Island could crest in late April. That is according to Jeff Zogg of the National Weather Service.
