Ben Rosehart joined KWQC as a sports anchor/reporter in July of 2011. From the Hawkeyes and Fighting Illini to high school hoops and everything in between, Ben is honored to cover your local teams and schools. He also enjoys continuing the great Friday tradition of the Emmy-nominated "Highlight Zone" which features a weekly theme and "wackies" with students during football and basketball season.
In his 3 years in the Midwest, Ben has covered the Iowa men's and women's basketball teams in the NCAA tournament, the annual Bix 7 Race in downtown Davenport, and the PGA Tour's John Deere Classic. He has also had the opportunity to cover HS state champions in wrestling, basketball, football and swimming. He claims that the best HS football game he's ever covered was the 2013 playoff game when Mercer County beat Rockridge in a double overtime thriller.
Prior to moving to the Quad-Cities, Ben spent 5 years covering sports and news at KGWN-TV in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Among his highlights in the Cowboy state, Ben covered the University of Wyoming football team's double overtime win in the 2009 New Mexico Bowl, Cheyenne East HS alum James Johnson getting drafted by the Chicago Bulls, and bull riders hanging on for dear life at the annual Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo. He also enjoyed following the UW women's basketball team to the 2007 WNIT title.
A proud graduate of La Salle University, Ben loves to wear his "Explorers" T-shirts around the QC and support the Phillies, 76ers & Flyers from afar... and somehow he became a Redskins fan along the way. He proudly taught his Dad - aka "Papa Rosehart" - how to text during the Phillies' run to the 2008 World Series. In addition, he gained valuable experience as a production assistant for NBC at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, and interned with the NFL Network, Philadelphia Eagles, and Fox 29 in Philly.
Not many sportscasters can play the violin, but Ben first started when he was six, and still enjoys playing occasionally at Mass. He also tries to improve his patented "Hail Mary Hook Shot" in local pickup basketball games.
