Iowa Boys 3A Sub-State Soccer... Bettendorf nips Muscatine 2-1... earning the Bulldogs a trip to Iowa City high on saturday at 4pm. Also.. Pleasant Valley shuts out Central 2-0.. the Spartans have to go to powerful Iowa City West at noon on Saturday... IC West walloped North Scott 14-2. In 1A.. an early exit for Assumption...losing 3-0 to Anamosa.
On the Illinois side... Alleman topped Dunlap 7-1 in its Class 3A Regional baseball opener... the Pioneers will face Galesburg on Saturday at 11am in Geneseo...after the Streaks edged the Maple leafs in 9-innings 2-1
In state softball... UTHS edged Rock Island 6-5 and will now meet Moline at 11am Saturday for the 4A Regional title at Moline.
Brian Urlacher has retired from the NFL...after playing 13 seasons..all with the Chicago Bears... he was an 8-time Pro Bowl linebacker.
