We've heard a lot lately, about job support for military veterans. Now Illinois Governor Pat Quinn is hoping to help military spouses find work as well. The Governor is signing a new bill today that will help military families as a whole.

In the QCA there is constant effort to find jobs and relief for veterans, especially at places like the American Legion post in Moline, but today Governor Quinn is working to do something a little bit different.

Governor Quinn will sign the "Military Family Licensing Act" today, which will help military spouses and veterans who are looking for work in Illinois, especially for those who have had jobs in other states that require a specific certification. Some of those jobs include teaching, nursing, speech pathology and EMT certificates, and that's just to name a few. Quinn wants to make it easier for spouses to transfer those certificates to Illinois.

First lady Michelle Obama stands behind Governor Quinn advocating for the 100 thousand military spouses who serve in professions that require state licenses or certifications.  We're told it's very difficult for the spouses to maintain careers when they are moving so often.

Governor Quinn is hoping to change that by signing this bill today.
