Another ATM theft in the Illinois Quad City Area has police searching for the culprit. The Annawan Police Department reports that approximately 1:41 a.m. Tuesday morning, the Henry County Sheriff's Office received a call from an alarm company about a burglar alarm at the Annawan Shell Express located on N. Canal Street in Annawan, IL.

The Annawan Police, along with the Sheriff's Department and the Illinois State Police responded to the gas station, where they discovered that illegal entry had been made and the interior ATM had been taken from the premises.

Police say that an ATV was used to crash through the main doors. Once inside, the vehicle was used to drag the ATM, which was located near the front doors, outside. The ATM was then removed from the area.

According to Police, due to the on-going investigation, no further details will be released including the amount of money that was stolen along with the ATM.

This is just the latest crime involving ATMs the Illinois Quad City Area in the last two months.

On May 12th, Sterling Police were called to two thefts that occurred in the early morning hours. One happened at the Northland Mall and the other at Eggs In Paradise, both located on East Lincoln Way.

Thieves struck again in Cordova on June 15th. Two convenience stores were broken into, but thieves were only able to getaway with the machine from one of the stores

Authorities encourage anyone with information concerning Tuesday's theft or any other ATM thefts in the area to please call the Annawan Police Department at 309-935-6250 or the Henry County Sheriff's Department at 309-937-3911.
