Update: River rescuers pulled a body from the Mississippi River Tuesday morning that officials say likely belongs to a man who was disappeared after he fell from a boat in Dubuque. The man's name hasn't been released. The missing boater fell out of the speeding boat on Monday evening.
DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) Authorities say a man has been reported missing after falling from a boat on the Mississippi River in Dubuque.
A search for the victim was suspended late Monday and was expected to resume Tuesday.
Authorities say the man fell out of the speeding boat around 6 p.m., but the boat kept going for miles down the river until it was stopped. The man fell out just south of Lock and Dam No. 11.
Police Capt. Jim Lembke says officials think they know who the victim is.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is expected to investigate the incident.
