Some changes may be coming if you receive federal Medicare drug coverage and live in Illinois.
The state is informing people that the Illinois Cares RX program will no longer help pay for drug coverage under the federal Medicare part D plan. Illinois no longer has the funds to supplement the federal drug coverage plan.
If you are on state Medicaid and not Medicare, your drug coverage will not be affected.
Participants should have received notice that the Illinois Cares RX program is ending on June 30th. The notice includes information on other plans available to help fill the gap.
