The decision by the Supreme Court to uphold President Obama's healthcare law is affecting politics nationwide, including in the Quad Cities.
Candidates in the Iowa Second Congressional District Race are weighing in - with Republican candidate John Archer outraged.
"There are more Americans who are opposed to the act than in favor of the act and once we start pealing back the onion, understanding what is in the act, Americans are going to be extremely surprised," Archer said.
Archer believes the Supreme Court decision will rally the base to help get him elected.
"I think it will re energize or continue to energize the base of the Republican party," Archer added.
Democratic incumbent Congressman Dave Loebsack is still enthusiastic about the law and eager to talk about it on the campaign trail.
"There are a lot of really good things in the health care bill that a lot of people refuse to talk about. We will be talking about those moving forward," Loebsack told KWQC recently.
One thing Congressman Loebsack does not want to talk about is the constitutionality of the law.
"I think the last thing that Iowans want to see is some kind of extended debate on an issue that has been settled by the highest court in the land," Loebsack said.
