Seems like everybody in Cordova knows Bob Windt. The likeable seventy year old has devoted almost forty years to teaching kids how to build and be creative.

Bob is a former aerospace engineer. He has a wealth of knowlege about building Hovercrafts. They are propeller driven machines which travel on both land and water. Some go as fast as sixty five miles an hour.

A building on Bob's property is the place where he teaches the youngsters how to do the math and measurements required to build the machines. Bob's nickname is Mr. Hovercraft.

Since 1975, he has shared his enthusiasm for the great outdoors with hundreds of children and adults in the Cordova area. Life, he believes, is about being creative. He tells kids that their lives will be happier if they use their minds.

He also volunteers at schools, teaching children that studying science, physics, and engineering can be lots of fun.
