Update: According to the Winnebago County Coroner, the 15 year old victim of Thursday's farming accident in Whiteside County, has passed away. The accident remains under investigation and no further details are available at this time. The name of the victim is being withheld at the request of the family.
A boy working on a family farm in Whiteside County was critically injured on Thursday morning when he fell from a farm vehicle.
According to the Sheriff's report, approximately 10:42 a.m., Whiteside Co. Deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call from a farm located south of Deere Grove, IL. Deputies were assisted by the Tampico, IL Fire Department, CGH Ambulance and Illinois State Police.
Upon arrival, it was determined that a young male, approximately 15 years old had fallen off a farm vehicle an received life threatening injuries. The boy was being transported and treated at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL.
The name of the boy was being withheld at the time of the report. The accident remains under investigation. Stay tuned to KWQC for further developments.
