It was a hot July 4th holiday and Quad City area hospitals report several people showed up for treatment of heat-related illnesses.

According to Trinity, four people sought treatment at two of its hospitals. Genesis treated 13 people at various campuses. Three cases involved participants in East Moline's annual Firecracker Run, which included a 5k and 10k race.

Health officials remind everyone when it's this hot, drink plenty of water, take breaks and try to get out of the heat, if possible.
