She is a female from Davenport, is featured in a photo album, and is getting national attention. She is four years old and weighs fifty pounds. Dixie, the labrador retriever, is a star.

Dixie is on the packages of Purina Fit and Trim Adult Dog Food. The product is sold in stores all over the United States.

Michael and Pam Lang own the dog. Michael works for Nestle Purina. The company was looking for employees' dogs to be featured nationally on their packages. Dashing Dixie, with her delightful demeanor, was chosen.  The dog is also featured in a Purina promotional video.

Pam Lang says Dixie was the motivation for her to get out and exercise. Pam trained for a marathon and says Dixie would train with her. At first, the dog would run a mile, then two.

Dixie eats two meals a day. The Langs follow recommended guidelines so that the dog maintains the proper weight.

The Lang Family, along with their proud pooch, are also featured in a photo album. Kendall Lang, one of three children, is included in the picture with Dixie on the Fit and Trim Dog Food packages.
