They are brothers. Twins. When it involves square dance "calling",  Don and Doug Sprosty are among the best. With a microphone, turntable, and record, the brothers are in their element. They are square dance callers.

The two Quad City men started calling forty years ago when they were twelve. Their parents loved to dance. Last year, the twins  logged more than twenty one thousand miles. Sometimes calling three to five nights a week.

The dancers depend on the Sprostys for direction. Steps, spins, turns, and partner changes. Mary Webster has been square dancing for more than twenty years and says the brothers have such good harmony and chemistry.

There are several square dance clubs in the Quad City area. So whether it's promenade, do-si-do, or join hands and circle to the left,  the Sprostys enjoy what they do. They love to make people smile and say that square dancing is a great stress reliever.
