Two more people are under arrest in connection to a home invasion and homicide in Bettendorf, Iowa last year.
The crime happened January 20, 2011 at a home in the 2500 block of Crestview Drive.
Police say two men, Marlon Naverrete and Jonathon Workman forced their way into the home and there was a struggle with the people inside. Workman of Moline was stabbed and died at the hospital.
Officers have just arrested Kenneth Duncan of Moline, Ill., and Austin Spencer of East Moline, Ill., both 20-years-old. They are in the Rock Island County Jail, charged with first degree murder robbery burglary and conspiracy.
According to police records, Spencer and Duncan convinced, and even offered payment to Naverrete to enter the home and steal drugs and money. Naverrete forced his way in with a gun and Workman had a heavy metal tool-like weapon, while Spencer and Duncan waited in a car outside. That's when the occupants of the home struggled with the pair, the gun went off and Workman was stabbed.
One of the residents, Neil Fishburn, was treated for gunshot wounds to the leg and Kyle Gorney suffered blunt force trauma.
Naverrete fled the scene and was arrested and charged in July of 2011, with attempted murder, conspiracy and first degree robbery.
