According to the Henry County Coroner, a single vehicle accident in rural Henry County Ill. claimed the life of 22-year-old Cody Jannie. Authorities were called to E 2700 Street at N 400 Avenue in rural Kewanee Thursday around 4:40 p.m.

The Henry County Sheriff's Office reports that Mr. Jannie lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a ditch embankment causing the vehicle to flip and overturn. Officials say he was thrown from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries.

Mr. Jannie was transported from the scene by Kewanee Rescue and taken to Kewanee Hospital. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. According to the report, there were no other passengers in the vehicle.

According to the Henry County Coroner, the accident happened on the same stretch of road where three Stark County teens lost their life in December of 2011.

The crash remains under investigation.
