UPDATE 8:30am: Both lanes are back open and traffic is moving through smoothly again.
UPDATE: One lane is now open on the I-74 bridge heading into Iowa.
EARLIER STORY: Traffic is shut down on the I-74 bridge heading into Iowa due to a multi-vehicle accident. It happened around 6:45 a.m. Reports from viewers stuck in traffic say the backup is past 23rd Street in Moline. No word yet on any injuries.
Earlier Wednesday morning, traffic was backed up on the I-74 bridge heading into Illinois. That was due to scheduled bridge painting work. The backup heading into Illinois cleared up before 6:00 a.m.
