The numbers are in and July 2012 was one for the record books. According to the National Weather Service (no surprise here), July 2012 was much hotter and drier than normal in the Quad City Area.
The average temperature at the Moline National Weather Service station for July 2012 was 80.7 degrees. This makes July 2012 the sixth warmest July on record.
There were 22 days with temperatures at or above 90 degrees with five of those days with temperature at or above 100 degrees.
In addition to being hot, July also goes on the books for being dry. The monthly precipitation for Moline was 0.45 inches for July 2012. This makes July 2012 the seventh driest July on record.
