The surprise win and the thrill of victory, those are just some of the reasons people watch the Olympics. During the London games many are complaining about spoilers, but some people like knowing results right away.
"I think it's exciting to see who's going to get any medals, says Jennifer Gerken, "I'm definitely rooting team USA."
However, some people are upset that spoilers all over the internet and social media are taking the excitement away.
"It's great technology wise, but it changes the surprise," says Lisa Digman, "The fact that you can stumble onto results so easily changes the experience of watching it at night."
Alerts, tweets, and websites aren't taking the fun of the games away from everyone, some want spoilers.
"It makes it more enjoyable at night, because I know the outcome. There's less stress and pounding on things," adds Kurt Karnsteet.
"I want to know what happened, because I can't watch until late at night," says Camille Mason, "However, I look and I'm sad, because I know."
For those who don't want to know results right away, they're taking steps to prevent spoilers. Some people have stopped receiving alerts on their smart phones and some have given up Facebook and Twitter.
"I try to keep myself off the internet from looking at it, so I can enjoy it that evening at home," adds Digman.
No matter what people find out before the Olympics air on TV, they still have their favorite sport.
"Basketball."
"Basketball and a little bit of track."
"Swimming and water polo."
"Girls gymnastics has been really, really good."
And, everyone says they'll keep cheering on Team USA.
